Karas
Karas Fish Tavern is a real family affair, as three brothers run it. Chris is in the kitchen, Aristos is the host front of house, and Captain Kostas supplies the catch from the family’s fishing boat every day. The name Karas is synonymous with quality fresh fish, and this restaurant is highly regarded as one of the best fish restaurants in Cyprus. So purely on reputation, it is a Cypriot’s favourite and people travel from all over the Island to eat here.

Following the judges’ undercover inspections, we are humbled to be rated at No 23 out of 1667 restaurants across the Island. Meze House
Naturally, the speciality is ‘Fish Meze’, which is a seasonal selection of seafood dishes cooked to perfection and brought to the table nice and slowly to be enjoyed at your own pace. Alternatively, you can make up your own Meze or have an individual fish, choosing from the fresh fish fridges by the kilo and selecting how you would like it cooked. Then, of course, there are always the fresh favourites Kourkounes, Grouper, Red Mullet, Lavraki, Gopa, Calamari, Cuttlefish, Prawns, Mussels, Oysters, Crab and the occasional Blue Fin Tuna caught by friends of the family. If you really want a treat, try the oven-baked Sea Bass in Salt Crust which is highly recommended.
There is also a full menu of traditional Cypriot and International dishes, with family recipes passed down and perfected over the years – Kleftiko, which falls off the bone, Moussaka, and authentic grills. In addition, there is a tasty children’s menu and a Take-Away and Delivery service. Karas is also a fantastic venue to host a private party or wedding reception at the highest level.

The Fish Tavern is in the heart of Kapparis, just 200 meters from Skoutaroi (Malama) beach, with easy access from downtown Protaras and Ayia Napa. The restaurant serves its customers in an elegant and friendly atmosphere.

At the back of the taverna, there is a lagoon-style swimming pool with a Pool Bar with plenty of sunbeds, surrounded by mature trees and an extensive grassy lawn for the kids to play. The shaded tables are very inviting to relax and enjoy an ice-cold drink, milkshakes, hot drinks and tasty snacks such as Sushi, fresh fish and traditional grills. Lazy Lemon is a great place to hold celebrations and special events with regular and delicious buffets.

This is a wonderful retreat, with excellent value studios and one-bed apartments, away from the crowds. Kapparis is a small resort with wonderful quaint bays along a rugged coastline with a selection of traditional tavernas full of Cypriot hospitality. There are also British style pubs full of local residents and regular visitors to the area.
